Dear Senior Parents,
Unfortunately, the High School Office omitted several important dates yesterday plus
there is some additional information about t-shirts. Changes to the original message are
highlighted in blue below.
Dear Senior Parents,
It was wonderful to see many of you at the Senior Parents Meeting last week.
We very much appreciate your warm support and we're excited at the prospect of being
able to share the celebration of our children's final year at ASIJ together.
Thank you all who signed up to volunteer. As for those who couldn't attend the last
meeting, it is not too late to sign up to help out. Here is the event calendar for the '13
Seniors.
*Aug. -- 1st day of the Senior year - Tue. Aug. 28
Provided treat bags to all the seniors.
*Sep. -- Ice Cream Treat - Thu. Sept. 6
Arranged ice cream, toppings, available for the seniors.
*Oct. -- BBQ - Wed. Oct.17
Parents host a BBQ. Senior parents will provide salads and desserts.
*Oct. -- Halloween - Wed. Oct. 31
Decorate the senior lockers with Halloween decorations and a treat bag for all the
seniors.
*Dec. - December Holiday - Wed. Dec. 12
Provide a treat table with baked goods.
*Jan. - Semester Exam Day - Mon. Jan. 21
Provide “care packages” on the first day of the exams.
*Feb. -- Valentine’s Day - Thu. Feb. 14
Decorate lockers with Valentines materials and provide a treat table with Valentines
sweets (cookies/cupcakes).
*Apr. -- April Fool’s Day - Mon. Apr. 1
Surprise !
*Apr. -- Senior Lunch Day - Wed. Apr. 24
Parents host simple lunch for all the seniors.
Graduation Events
*May -- Senior Banquet - Thu. May 30
Parents organize a dinner reception which will be held at Happoen for parents and their
graduates.
*May -- Senior Breakfast/Senior Walk - Fri. May 31
Arrange for a breakfast table with food for the last day of school, before their cap and
gown walk around the school campus. “Gift to Seniors” given at the same time.
*Jun - HS Graduation - Sat. June 1
Graduation ceremony held at Fuchunomori Hall and followed reception at ASIJ
cafeteria which will be organized by Junior Parents Committee.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help out at our next upcoming event, the
Senior BBQ on Wednesday, October 17th. If you already signed up at the last meeting
but did not specify this event, please let Chiharu Harris (chiharu21aug@yahoo.co.jp)
know so she can include your name on the list of Senior BBQ volunteers.
We are also looking for someone who would like to chair the following events: December
Holiday (Dec.12), Semester Exam Day (Jan. 21), Senior Breakfast (May 31). If you are
interested in leading one of these events, please let us know.
We are also taking orders for Senior parent T-shirts, which we would like to wear at
each senior event. If you are interested in purchasing (the price will be determined by
the number of orders, and is expected to be approximately 2500 yen), please email to
Tomi Malamud (tomihanai@gmail.com) your order by September 13th,Thursday. The
T-shirts will be available in US sizes: women's S, M, L, XL and men's S, M, L, XL).
We have two different styles of t-shirts available - a fitted style in women sizes and a
more regular cut in men sizes. Feel free, of course, to order the men's style if you
prefer.
