1. Remove linen, trash and biohazard waste from OR and discard per policy



2. Mop floors as needed



Discard:
1. Sharp items: (eg. surgical needles, surgical blades, electrosurgical tips,
hypodermic needles, unused suture packs, saw blades, drill tips, trochars)
into rigid, puncture-resistant sharps container
2. Soiled surgical sponges, biologically contaminated waste and disposable
items into an impervious, biohazard waste receptacle if those items would
release blood or body fluid if compressed
3. Unused surgical sponges, drapes, and disposable supplies and other
disposable supplies contaminated with small amounts of blood or body
fluids (items would not release fluid if compressed) into an impervious
trash receptacle
