Pharmacy Practice Faculty Position in Clinical and Translational Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacy Practice, University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Pharmacy invites applications for a state supported twelve-month, full-time, tenure-leading or tenured faculty position from candidates with a demonstrated track record or potential in clinical or translational research .

The successful candidate will be expected to work with other faculty within the College of Pharmacy and at UNMC to create a nationally recognized, externally and independently funded research program.

The successful candidates will interface with scientists and clinicians at the College of Pharmacy.

Additionally, numerous interdisciplinary collaborative research opportunities exist with investigators throughout UNMC and its affiliated institutions. Ideal candidates would have current extramural funding, a demonstrated ability and commitment to teaching excellence at the professional and graduate levels, and a history of innovative, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research interactions. However, young investigators with a strong potential to obtain research funding are strongly encouraged to apply for this position. Rank will be commensurate with experience level, demonstrated record of achievement, and national and international prominence in his/her field.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice is one of two departments in the College of Pharmacy and consists of twenty-one faculty members. Areas of research emphasis in the College include: clinical and experimental therapeutics, drug delivery, nanomedicine, drug discovery, pharmacokinetics, molecular biology, and pharmaceutical biophysics. The University’s core service lines include cardiology, critical care, endocrinology, infectious diseases, neurology, oncology, and transplant. The College of Pharmacy has a very active Center for Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine involving strong collaborations with many outstanding researchers at other national and international universities. Research funding for the current year is over $10 million and the college is ranked in the top 10 out of all colleges of pharmacy in terms of NIH funding per faculty member. There are 35 students in the graduate program and 60-65 students in each

Pharm.D. class. The College of Pharmacy is entering a new and exciting phase of growth and development. A Pharm.D. or Ph.D. degree or other health professional degree is required for this position.
