Student Profile:
This course is designed for an analyst who has responsibility for operation of the Agilent 6210 LC/MS TOF for
routine and non-routine samples. A fundamental understanding of liquid chromatography is expected and mass
spectrometry is expected.
Prerequisites:
Techniques of HPLC, H1186A, Practical High Performance Liquid Chromatography, H5930A, or equivalent
experience.as well as understanding of the basic concepts in mass spectrometry.
Equipment
At least 1 Agilent 6210 TOF equipped with an electrospray source, an Agilent 1100 or 1200 HPLC (binary
pump) MassHunter software, Analyst software, Bioconfirm, Data Browser, and Easy Access. Laptop computers

Course Preparations
Instrumentation Guidelines

A 6210 TOF instrument with workstation is required. An electrospray source and
Agilent 1100 or 1200 HPLC with vacuum degasser, autosampler- high performance,
binary pump, UV detector.

Please have consumables on hand for the TOF and HPLC such as capillaries, ferrules,
etc.

For required samples – see below.

Each student should have a laptop computer with offline software noted above..

This course uses A.02 TOF software.

Load course data files and methods into appropriate folders. Do not delete Demo
files. See below.


High resolution LCD Projector capable of handling 1280 x 1024 resolution.

Printed student lecture and lab manual per student.
