GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS 2014
1. All Mares visiting the stud MUST have a current certificate to confirm negative results of a clitoral swab test for Contagious Equine
Metritis (CEM), and Equine Viral Arteritis (EVA) negative report no more than 30 days before arrival, Equine Flu and Tetanus
vaccination are advised, but not compulsory.
2. All owners and or agents are required to fill in and sign our Mare Booking form when they bring the mare to stud. If the mare is sent
with a third party the form must be completed and signed before the mare arrives.
3. Mare Passports / Identification/ Blood Results: It is a legal requirement that mares are accompanied to the stud with their passport. A
copy of the blood test results is also required at the time or prior to the mare’s arrival.
4. All fees MUST be paid before the mare leaves the stud. We reserve the right to charge a deposit at the time of the mare’s arrival,
which will be deducted off the mare’s final invoice. Mare owners who send a third party to collect their mare must make arrangements to
pay in advance of collection. Payment may be made in cash or by cleared cheque. Mares will not be allowed to leave before payment is
made in full and cheques have cleared. Interest will be charged on outstanding amounts from the due date until the actual date of
payment.
5. The mare owner MUST pay the Stallion stud fee prior to the mare being artificially inseminated or naturally covered, with no
exception. Terms are LIVE FOAL GUARANTEE. The stud must be notified in writing from your vet that the mare is not in foal, or if the
foal is still born, or if the foal dies within the specified time period.
6. Please make sure all mares arrive at stud without hind shoes. Mares and foals will have their feet trimmed when necessary and any
costs charged to the owner’s account.
7. Mares and foals will be wormed on arrival and regularly thereafter and the owner will be charged accordingly. Mare owners may
supply their own wormer.
8. The owner agrees to pay accordingly if the Stud Manager deems it is necessary to stable their mare. All efforts will be made to
contact the owner should the need arise. Keep charges are in respect of stable or field keep. Farrier, dentist, vet etc are not included
and are at the stud discretion. Any supplementary feeding or care that the stud feels the mare or foal need, will be carried out and
charged to the owner accordingly.
9. All inseminations will be carried out by a DEFRA approved AI- technician or veterinary surgeon, natural coverings will be carried out
by the stud staff.
10. All veterinary work will be carried out by our stud veterinarians (please contact us if you require their details) will be charged to mare
owners. It is asked that owners contact the Stud Manager (Claire Al-Redha) and not the Veterinary Surgeon in the first instance to
discuss their mare’s progress as the mare records are kept at the Stud. Veterinary advice and assistance will be called for when
deemed necessary by the Stud staff. All veterinary expenses charged by our vets will be directed to the mare owner.
11. Insurance: The Stud accepts no responsibility for visiting mares and foals and does not carry insurance cover; it is the owner’s
responsibility to provide their own insurance cover.
12. Mares and Foals whilst on our premises will be teased, served and foaled at the owners risk. A twitch or sedation may be used at
the discretion of the stud staff and or vet to ensure safety for all concerned. Every care will be taken of your mare and foal but no
responsibility is accepted for any accident, theft, disease, injury or death to the mare and foal while visiting the stud. Lynaire Sports
Horses shall under no circumstances be liable to the owner for the consequent or indirect loss or damage or for any loss of profits,
business revenue or goodwill. The owner, in the event of an accident, disease or injury, infirmity or act of God, hereby irrevocably
authorises the Stud on recommendations of the veterinary surgeon or other duly appointed surgeon to humanely destroy the horse.
13. The Stud is not responsible for any semen supplied from outside sources which is: incorrectly labeled, arrives with incorrect paper
work or is in an unsuitable condition upon arrival. Similarly the Stud is not responsible for the failure of semen to arrive on time.
14. For mares coming to visit us, please do not bring any rugs, boots or bandages etc, unless under special care, this is to avoid
misplacement!
15. The Stud reserves the right to refuse entry to the stud to any mare or foal in the event that any of these conditions are not complied
with or where they consider that mare or foal to be an unacceptable health and safety risk.
