When to Send a Patient for Wound Care Services
If your patient is experiencing chronic or non-healing wounds, we can help. These types of wounds can
be caused by diabetes, vascular disease (arterial, venous, lymphatic, vasculitis), radiation therapy,
surgery, trauma, burns or pressure. Chronic non-healing wounds may result in life-threatening
infections, amputation or debilitating health problems.
Many types of wounds can be treated at the DeKalb Medical Comprehensive Wound Care Center. Some
of these include:

Diabetic foot ulcers
Arterial ulcers – wounds caused by poor circulation
Venous stasis ulcers – wounds caused by varicose veins
Vasculitic ulcers – wounds cause by autoimmune illnesses
Radiation injuries
Non-healing surgical sites
