Experienced Camp Counselor or Junior Director Application
Dane County 4-H Camp will be held at Upham Woods in Wisconsin Dells on the following dates:
July 28-31, 2016 (Junior Camp, grades 3-5) *This is a Thursday through Sunday*
July 31-August 3, 2016 (Senior Camp, grades 6-8) *This is a Sunday through Wednesday*

REQUIREMENTS
 Experienced Counselor applicants must complete grade 10 by June 17, 2016
 Junior Director Applicants must complete grade 12 by June 17, 2016
 Prior experience as a counselor at Dane County 4-H Camp
Participate in an interview (see below)
One letter of recommendation IS REQUIRED. Please include with your application.
 Letter of recommendation should be from 4-H leaders or other adults. Do not use family
members, Camp Committee members, or Dane County Extension 4-H staff.
INTERVIEWS
Interviews will be held on Thursday March 3, 2016 from 5:30-8:00 pm Waunakee High School,
at 301 Community Drive, Door #9, Waunakee and Saturday March 5, 2016 from 9:30-11:30 am
at Fen Oak. Interviews will last 30 minutes. Please schedule your interview by February 12,

Approximately 20 positions will be filled. Selection for the 2016 4-H Camp Staff will be based
upon quality of application, interview and letters of recommendation. Applicants will be
notified of the status of their application by March 14, 2016.
Counselors & Junior Directors are expected to attend all training sessions listed below. Please
mark the following dates on your calendar.

Sunday May 15, 2016; 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Hoffman Farm, 7001 County Rd C, Sun Prairie
Thursday June 16, 2016; 6:00 – 9:00pm at Waunakee High School, Door #9
Tuesday June 27, 2016; 6:00 – 9:00pm at Fen Oak
Monday July 12, 2016; 6:30 – 8:30pm at Fen Oak
An optional training will be held at Upham Woods on April 2 & 3, 2016. Attendance at
this training will be at your own expense.
