1. In your workbook write the heading:

How does a polyp kill its prey?
Where does a polyp live?
How does Zooxanthellae help the polyp?
Where can smooth coral be found?
Where can a fringing reef be found?
4. Cut out the diagram of the coral polyp and paste into your workbook.
Label the diagram using the words from the box.

Food Webs
6. Copy the following text into your workbook:
Food webs show what different plants and animals eat and how their feeding
patterns link with each other.
In a food web, arrows point from the food to the living thing that eats it.
7. Obtain a copy of the worksheet:
Creating a food web
Cut out the pictures of the marine life that lives on the Great Barrier Reef.
Arrange the pictures to show a food web for the Great Barrier Reef.
Neatly paste your pictures into your workbook.
Colour neatly and don’t forget to join each marine creature to another
using an arrow.
