The Board of Directors of the Skating Club of Hingham
2009 -2010 Skating Season Ice Contracts
August 12, 2009
Dear Members,
As you know, the Skating Club of Hingham has undergone some major changes in the past few months.
We have relocated to the Mark Bavis Arena and I hope everyone is pleased with the move and are starting
to feel a little more “at home” in our new rink.
Because of this move, there will be some changes in the ice schedule for the upcoming skating season.
First, the Club will no longer have 40 minute ice sessions. We will now be offering 50 minute ice sessions
on Mondays through Friday and 60 minute ice sessions on Saturday. Second, because the sessions are
now longer, the cost per session has been adjusted to reflect the new longer sessions. Third, Senior
Members will now only be required to contract three (3) ice sessions per week instead off the four
sessions per week that was required in previous years. The decrease in the number of required sessions
will allow members to contract ice for approximately the same amount of time and cost as they did last
year.
At the SCOH board meeting held on August 3, 2009, the Board voted and approved the following ice
rates for 2009-2010 skating season. The Board has made every effort to keep the session prices as low as
possible and still be able to cover the cost of our ice. The cost for full members for a 50 minute session
will be $16.00 and the cost for a 60 minute session will be $18.00.
Members will still have the option of choosing the “Flex Schedule” for the 2009-2010 skating season.
Flex skaters must contract at least 3 ice sessions per week and will receive a voucher for each session.
The cost per voucher will be $17.00. Each voucher may be used to walk-on to one 50 minute session. If
the skater wants to use the voucher to walk-on to a 60 minute session, they will have to pay an additional
$2 at the time the voucher is used.
The cost of walk-ons will also increase. For Members, Rainbow and Alumni members the walk-on rate
will be $18 for a 50 minute session and $20 for a 60 minute session. For Associate members the walk-on
rate will be $19 for a 50 minute session and $21 for a 60 minute session. For Non-club members the
walk-on rate will be $20 for a 50 minute session and $22 for a 60 minute session.
Please review and fill out the enclosed ice schedule (as a reminder, senior club members must contract
three (3) sessions of ice per week). Then sign and date the Financial Responsibility and the Medical
release statements on the back of the form. All completed ice contracts must be returned it to the Skating
Club of Hingham by August 28, 2009.
Thank you.
