Objectives: To become more familiar with Venice, Italy.
To give the reader a visual aid while reading The Thief Lord.
Step 1: BEGIN with clicking on “virtourist”. Welcome to Venice! Answer questions 1 – 15 on
the Venice Tour Worksheet while reading and following the virtual tour of Venice.
Step 2: Click on “italyguides”.
o Click on the following places in Venice to find the answers for questions 16-25.
o After you click on a location, click the virtual panorama icon in the white call-out
box. A video can be viewed as well as text beneath the video (in which the answers
to 16-25 will be found)
o The places to view are:
 St. Marks Basilica,

 St. Mark’s Square,

about, and pictures of the Cemetery Island of San Michele, “Venice” has some great videos of
Venice, and “Doge” has some additional information and sketches.
Step 4: Use the information you received on the virtual tour and interactive map along with
the other 4 sites to write a five paragraph essay (in your own words) about 3 places in
Venice that have captured your interest. (NO COPYING AND PASTING)
