BICOMPONENT SEALER FOR POLYESTERS
DESCRIPTION: bicomponent polyurethane coating with exceptional chemical
resistance and penetrating power, formulated to protect the grease and the
dampness contained in the wood from the polyester paints, which otherwise could
not dry uniformly and perfectly. IS201 is recommended when the suspected
humidity of the wood or the minerals contained in its knots is such that they may
interfere with the hardening of the nitro, polyurethane or acid cured paints.
APPLICATION: by spray or by cloth in one or more coats depending on the type of
wood.
The time interval between the coats is of 1-3 hours, the quantity of 60-70 g/m2 per
coat. Using the catalyst C201, the polyester paint can be applied after 4-5 hours,
maximum 12-16 hours. Using catalyst C204, the polyester paint can be applied
after 2-3 hours, maximum 6-8 hours.
CATALYST:
100% in weight or volume with C201 or C204.
POT LIFE at 20°C:
5 hours with C201, 3 hours with C204.
N.B.
It is advisable, but not absolutely necessary, to lightly sand the sealer before
applying the polyester paint, with large grain abrasive paper (80-100). It is always
necessary to sand it if the time interval is longer than that above indicated. If the
time interval is more than a few days the sealer should be sanded, another coat of
sealer applied, and after 1-2 hours the polyester paint can be applied. Spray
application should be done in well ventilated areas.
