Learning Styles Assignment
Now that you have completed the Index of Learning Styles Questionnaire and
know what your learning style is, you are probably asking yourself,
“What
does this mean?” You will notice that your scores were printed out on four (4)
different dashed lines, and at the end of each line, you will see several capital
letters.
Each of these letters stands for a particular learning style; see if you
cannot figure out what each means by reading the Learning Styles and
Strategies handout. The position of the “X” on each line tells you how strongly
you prefer one style over the style indicated at the opposite end of that line—
the bigger the number, the greater the preference.
Please carefully read the
handout on Learning Styles and Strategies to find out what your learning style
means.

Write your responses in complete sentences.
Your response must be typed and double-spaced.
Make sure that you re-read
what you have written, and do take the time to correct any errors you noted!
Remember, anything worth doing is worth doing well!

Did your learning style come as a surprise to you?

were you surprised?
II. Please think about and discuss examples from your own life and
academic experience that illustrate how you learn best. Try to think of
at least three different examples.

III. Share your results and explain a bit about what they mean with at least
one person who knows you well.
Ask this person if these results accord
with his or her impression of how you learn.
Then, write at least one
paragraph about what you learned from someone who knows you well.
IV. Explain what reading, writing, and study strategies fit well with the way
you naturally learn, that is, your individual learning style (please consult
the Learning Styles & Strategies handout).
