GOHSEP ENCOURAGES HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS
Baton Rouge, March 30, 2006 – The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness
encourages Louisiana citizens to begin preparing for the 2006 hurricane season by making a Family Disaster Plan.
Citizens should plan in advance what they will do in an emergency. They should be prepared to assess the situation,
use common sense and whatever is on hand to take care of themselves and their loved ones.
Family disaster plans should be kept simple. The best emergency plans are those that are easy to remember.
Attached is GOHSEP’s guide to developing a Family Disaster Plan.
