RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF
Terry Broyer, Biology Department
Laney College Faculty Senate
Whereas, Terry Broyer joined the faculty of Laney College in
1974 as a Biology Instructor and served the college for more
than three decades until his retirement in Spring 2005 ;
Whereas, Terry Broyer was a devoted department chair and
dedicated, highly skilled teacher who will be greatly missed by
students, faculty and staff ;
Whereas, Terry Broyer was an important mentor to many
current faculty, gave of himself to many Laney colleagues,
including administrators, such that his spirit will live on in the
Biology Department and across the campus ;
Whereas, Terry’s family plans to donate Terry’s personal
collection of biological specimens to the Laney Biology
Department, allowing students to continue to learn from these
materials for years to come,
Therefore, be it resolved, that the Laney College Faculty Senate
honors the memory of our beloved friend and colleague, Terry
Broyer, and
Be it further resolved that the Laney College Faculty Senate
extends our deepest sympathy to the family of Terry Broyer.
