Prospective Research Ongoing:
1. Phase I Study Investigating Use of Statin Therapy to Prevent Radiation Pneumonitis and Fibrosis
after Definitive Treatment for Non-Small Center Lung Cancer
Investigators: Dr. Sonali Rudra, Dr. Renuka Malik (PI), Dr. Joe Garcia, Dr. Ralph Weichselbaum
Study Proposal Selected for ASCO/AACR Workshop: Methods in Clinical Cancer Research 2011
Status: Non-Active
2. A Long Term Investigation of Radiation Treatment in Lung Cancer Patients, Protocol: 16057A
Role: Principal Investigator
Prospective database is designed to assess long-term outcomes for lung cancer patients treated with
definitive radiotherapy. Lung texture analysis with dose mapping is being conducted in
collaboration with radiology to assess for early architectural changes correlated with symptomatic
pneumonitis and to determine if these early changes lead to late fibrosis.
