Application form for the

BWPA Saul-Pooley IRI Scholarship 2015

The British Women Pilots' Association (BWPA) intends to award up to six scholarships to female pilots in 2015 as a part of the celebration of this, its Diamond Jubilee year. This application form is for the Saul-Pooley Award, made in conjunction with Dorothy Saul-Pooley of Pooleys Flying Instructor School which is based at Shoreham Airport. Dorothy will provide the instructional element of an Instrument Rating Instructor (IRI) course to a suitably qualified female instructor. The selection panel will comprise Dorothy and two further BWPA representatives. (The selection panel also reserves the right to make no award if no suitable candidate is identified).

The award comprises 5 hours of flight instruction and 10 hours of classroom instruction.

Applicants will provide their own aeroplane or, if they require an aeroplane to be provided it will be at their own cost. Landing fees and approach fees will also be at the applicants own cost, as would any tuition hours needed above the course minimum and the cost of the

Assessment of Competence test . The maximum value of the award is £1110.00. The course will be provided at Shoreham Airport (or possibly, and by agreement with Dorothy, at Lee on

Solent).

Applicants must already be qualified female instructors (unrestricted) (SEP), with at least an

IMC rating.

The successful applicant will also be invited, as a guest of BWPA, to the BWPA Christmas

Lunch and Awards ceremony on Sunday 6th December 2015, at The Manor House Hotel,

Weston on the Green, Oxfordshire.
