EWP&CA NEWSLETTER APRIL 2010 2010 ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTIONS If you have not yet renewed your membership, this will be the last Newsletter you receive. If you wish to renew a form is enclosed for your convenience. SPRING SHOW – IN-HAND & RIDDEN – MANOR FARM, HOUGHTON, HUNTINGDON 4/5 APRIL 2010 All the feedback has been positive and although we clashed with the BSPS Championship on the Sunday, we had a lot of nice ponies and cobs forward in the ridden classes. We had good entries on the Monday for the in-hand classes and plenty of spectators too. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sponsored the championship sashes; all of you who enclosed donations with your entries and special thanks go to the committee members who turned up to help. Without such generosity and willingness, the show would not be possible. The raffle raised £161.00, which went to Help for Heroes, and we are grateful for your support and thanks to Linda Wilkinson who did a great job selling the tickets on Monday and Abby Nutter who started the ball rolling on Sunday. MR DENNIS BUTTRISS It is sad to hear that Mr Dennis Buttriss, breeder of Section Ds, at the Glenville Stud, Somersham passed away earlier this year. Mr Buttriss, who was in his 90s, was a member of EWPCA in the very early days and some may remember his lovely mare, Oriel Way Delight and the colt, Glenville Orion. Our sympathy goes to his family.
