the meeting as he continues to heal from hip surgery. Leslie moved to accept the change in the
Agenda, Janelle seconded, carried.
Rector’s Report: Good turn out at the ECW dinner. ECW funds down due to missed Turkey
supper in May and not doing the Farmer’s Market in Saco. We’ve lost 8 parishioners who
were pledging members. As a Vestry, we need to be aware of these issues. Fr David reported
on the Diocesan Aid Grant Proposal. Meeting is Saturday, June 9, in Waterville. Jason will
attend to defend our request for funds, specifically for repairs desperately needed for the roof.
Also on Saturday, is the 250th Saco Anniversary Parade with our Trinity float with many
people from the congregation participating. Fr David noted that a Thank You go to Melodie
Provost as Chair of the float committee. We had a leak in the roof in the office, with all of the
rain we’ve had recently. Capital Campaign starting for raising funds for the roof repair.
Also reviewed the July calendar of events – Summer Fair will be July 14th. Fr David
mentioned other things that will be reported on later in the meeting.
Fr David reported to us on his healing process. Slow but sure – slower than he would like but
he is coming along. Fr David will be away for a time but shouldn’t miss any Sunday services.
Minutes from May 2, 2012 meeting, reviewed, Carl noted that he was neither present or
absent. Leslie moved that the minutes be accepted as amended, Bill Collison seconded,
carried.
Treasurers Report: Janice Geaumont reported; Leslie moved that if we are short for the
assessment, we will pay May and hold off on June until July, Bill seconded; carried. Jason
made a motion that all envelopes designated for improvement or building fund be put toward
the roof project. Leslie seconded; carried.
Sr Warden Jason Briggs continued on with the meeting and discussion of his intentions at the
meeting for the Grant as well as detailed discussion on his plans for the roof repair and a
means to get that project completed sooner than later, by October at the latest.
Upcoming fund raising events: Summer Fair 7/14 – Jason will have the POD ready for July
1st for donations, 9/22 – Turkey supper, 9/30 Lobster dinner – Sunday@ 4PM
Jr Warden: Leslie spoke about the upcoming Spring Cleaning day on June 16, 9 – 12. Leslie
will have pizza for all who volunteer to help with the cleaning.
Social Media Report: Leslie and Carl met with John Gold. Further, she requested to spend
$800 - $1000 to hire John Gold to design the web site and do other work necessary to
accomplish the goals set forth. John built the web site for the diocese; Carl has known him
for years. Doug moved and Janelle seconded; carried. Leslie spoke on letter sent to Apple for
donation of computer and programs that would enable us to record live everything that goes
on. We would then need a camera to go live feed with it. The website is the first step. Last
part of the website is to have a “Donate” button on the site. Leslie has done research on
options and the vestry has been emailed the information for review. Discussion ensued on the
options; Jason moved to give Leslie the authority to decide which option would be best, most
economical, etc. Carl seconded; carried.
Social Ministry: Doug reported on several events planned. 7/8 – Habitat for Humanity will
be here to speak at coffee hours before 8:00 and after 10:00 services. The committee is also
planning a Bean Supper in August; will tithe a piece of the proceeds to the improvement fund.
Next meeting for this committee will be 6/20. Mike Harris to do a show in August – plans
still in the works.
Summer Fair will be July 14 from 8:00 – 1:00. POD will be here 7/2 – no junk, keep the
good items. Jason put forth setting up items the night before and having someone sleeping
out there over night. Looking for a replacement for Mary Jane Russo – New to You, help
needed to set up the tent the night before. After some discussion, it was decided to ask Janine
to put notices in local papers.
Thank You Notes: James Pate for generous donation to the work needed for the roof; Tim
Murphy for generous donation to help pay for replacing the floor grates in the sanctuary;
Melodie Provost for chairing the float committee.
Audit: Janice still hadn’t heard from Gary Hammond. She will call him.
Bring a friend to church, Sunday breakfast, need to ask someone, Jason will pursue in a few
weeks. Following the agenda: Sr Warden’s Report and Jr Warden’s Report – see minutes
above with some further discussion on miscellaneous items that continue to need attention.
Compline and close of meeting at approximately 8:30.
Respectfully submitted,
Claire R Ganter
