1. What is housed at Jo Wells Education Center?
 Jo Wells is the home for a variety of educational support services. Departments include
Student Discipline, Services for Exceptional Children, Testing and Evaluation, Liaisons for
the Homeless, Psychological Services, Special Education Records, GED testing and Safe
and Drug Free Schools.
2. Who is a member of the Service for Exceptional Children (SEC) Department Team?
 Leadership includes the Executive Director, Dr. Vickie Perdue Scott, the Director of
Instruction, Sara Snyder and the Coordinators, Tom Munn (Elementary South); Janet
Moody (Elementary North); Sarah Ware (Elementary North; Charter Schools); Dottie Pettes
(Middle Schools); Dr. Judie Erickson (High Schools); Ann Medlock (Preschool/
Kindergarten Special Eduction and Visual Impairments); Yvette Jean (Hearing
Impairments, Interpreters, Liaison to Nursing Services, school based Instructional Support
Teachers and Transportation; Occupational and Physical Therapy; Parent Mentors;
Orthopedic Impairments); Nancy Erickson (Communication Disorders, Audiology, Private
Schools).
 Support staff includes:
 Systemwide Instructional Support Teachers – Robin Lewis (Encore Support); Elissa
Smith (Communication Disorders); Julie Butler (High School Transition Services);
Sharon Butler (Behavioral Supports); Kelley Baker (Autism Supports); Jodi Lovett
(Autism Supports); and Lisa Thomas (Preschool/Kindergarten Special Education).
 Assistive Technology teachers – Shonda Golden (South and Orthopedically
Impaired); Betsy Rohrbaugh (North and Visually Impaired); Jennifer Lyons (South
and Access to Curriculum Students); Leslie Hawkins (North and Access to
Curriculum Students); Cathy Clayton (Mild Diabilities); Amy Scheifflee (Mild
Disabilities).
 Audiologists- Rhonda Briscoe, Teaching Museum South, Mary Eudaly, North
Springs High School and Ann Cuthbertson, Hembree Springs Elementary.
 Parent Mentors-Jennifer Carroll (North County) and Sabrina Gresham (South
County).



Related Services.
