Following continued growth, Taylor Wimpey Exeter is offering an exceptional opportunity for a Trainee within the Technical Department. The Trainee will spend four days per week in the office gaining an appreciation of the Company’s overall business and an in-depth knowledge of the planning, architecture and engineering technical functions within the organisation. One day per week will be spent furthering education towards a Degree qualification in a relevant subject. Subject to the Trainee’s performance and a suitable vacancy, it will be the intention to employ the Trainee in an appropriate permanent position. Key Activities Submission of utilities applications for new developments Administration of Drawing Management Systems. Attendance at Site Meetings Appreciation of design standards and house types Involvement in layout design. Updating and monitoring development programmes. Producing CAD drawings General day to day administration, i.e. taking calls, filing, emails etc. Training Progression The Trainee will have an Appraisal every three months to determine progress made. At the expiry of eighteen months, the Trainee’s progress will be reviewed to determine the suitability of the Trainee for further training, subject to examination results. Following and subject to the review at eighteen months, the next thirty months will be to gain further experience and qualifications in order to establish an identifiable career path. Other It will be necessary for the Trainee to hold a driving license It will be necessary for the Trainee to enrol on a day release university course (ONC/HNC/degree etc.), which is relevant to their job role, for the duration of the 4 years. It will be necessary for the Trainee to have a minimum 3 ‘A’ Levels at Grade C or above.
