SUTTER CLINICAL LABORATORY
TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility Requirements:
 Be registered for full-time coursework
 Have senior status in the Department of Biological Sciences
 Have declared a Clinical Laboratory Technology concentration
 Maintain at least a 2.8 GPA
 Have overcome an obstacle or challenge while in college (e.g. economic background, firstgeneration college student, challenges as a single-parent or immigrant, non-English
speaking, military veteran).
Applicants must submit an application by the published deadline that includes:
 Copies of transcripts
 An essay (no greater than one page) addressing the following prompt:
"How you have personally overcome obstacles and challenges as you
have worked towards your degree?"
 One letter of support from a faculty member that addresses your
scholarly efforts and potential. (Letter of support can be submitted separately.)
To establish a strong link between the Sutter Health Scholar and the Sutter Health organization,
scholars will, in writing or in person, present a progress report to the Sutter Health Foundation, and
submit a thank you note addressed to Sutter with a copy to the Dean’s office. The award may be
renewed for up to three years.
