*** Ginny de Wolf Named ASA Fellow ***
Virginia de Wolf, consultant and retired federal statistician, has been elected a Fellow of the
American Statistical Association and will be honored at a ceremony at the JSM in Seattle this
August. Only one-third of one percent of the total ASA membership can be elected each year by
the Committee on Fellows. ASA members are honored with the title of Fellow in recognition of
outstanding professional contribution to and leadership in the field of statistical science.
Beginning in 2004, Ginny served as our San Antonio ASA Chapter Webmaster. She singlehandedly transformed our out-of-date website and has kept it current ever since. We are very
grateful for her dedicated service to our chapter. Ginny’s citation reads: “For extensive and
enthusiastic contributions to the profession, particularly in the areas of disclosure limitation and
data access; for dissemination of novel disclosure limitation methods within the federal statistical
agencies and the social science research community.” Congratulations, Ginny!
