The University of Washington, UW Medicine, hereafter called "UW Medicine” or “UW” is initiating this
Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit proposals from Bidders to provide an integrated multi-media elearning portal for the sports community in Washington State.
Currently, there is a specific need for athletic coaches to be properly trained on prevention and treatment
of sports related injuries. These injuries may include concussions, neck, shoulder, elbow, hand, back, hip,
knee ankle, foot etc. Washington State law will soon require all coaches to be educated on concussion
and sudden cardiac arrest prevention and treatment.
UW Medicine wants to provide e-learning courses to better educate coaches on sports injuries and injury
prevention. This on-line coursework will include mini-timed courses broken down per category for easy
access for users and will allow users the ability to complete the tasks on their own schedule. The course
material will be provided by UW Medicine Sports Medicine, which includes: subject matter resources
(information, subject matter experts and reference materials).
In addition to empowering coaches with sports medicine knowledge that results in healthier athletes, the
e-learning academy will also build advocacy and brand loyalty for the UW Medicine brand. UW Medicine
Sports Medicine is interested in being uniquely positioned in the market as the “go to” place for advice
and physician expertise in the sports medicine field.
