PROJECTS:

MINI-PROJECT
Title: New twilite switch.
PRINCIPLE:
The objective of this project is to switch ON/OFF a light depending
upon the sunlight.
New Twilite switch circuit is a simple circuit. The hardware of this circuit
consists of 4 main parts, 555 IC – Timer, LDR, LED, and NAND Gate.
When the light is been in OFF position LDR starts its function & detects
that there is no light. This LDR activates the 4093 NAND Gate, which acts as a
trigger to the circuit. The trigger IC makes the 555 Timer to activate.
The timer makes the LED to make ON. In the 555 Timer the time is set
manually by using variable resistance. The circuit do not get affected when the set
time gets over the circuit will not go to OFF position or when the light is passed
through the circuit.
The main advantage of this circuit is when LDR triggers it will not affect
the light variation moreover it will not affect the 555 timer after triggering. The
NAND Gate is used as the activating element for LDR.
This New twilite switch is mainly used in night time room lights which
automatically triggers ON in night & switches OFF in day.

MAIN PROJECT
Title:
Remote
monitoring
of
Temperature
using
microcontrollers
&
chordless phone.
PRINCIPLE:
The aim of this project is to develop wireless communication for
transmitting data’s between two microcontrollers.
The hardware of this system consists of two 89C52 microcontrollers as CPU,
MODEM, RF Transmitter & Receiver (using chordless phone), Control keys, & LCD
display. In addition the system in receiver end will have the Temperature sensor,
signal conditioning circuit & TRIAC switch to control the supply to heater.
The system consists of two sections 1. Transmitter section &
2. Receiver section, At the Transmitter section the 89C52 microcontroller is
connected parallel to the Modem (signal conversion) & RF Transmitter & Receiver.
On the other side of the microcontroller, LCD display & control keys (set value of
temperature) are connected.
At the Receiver section the 89C52 microcontroller is connected to the
Temperature
sensor,
Signal
conditioning
circuit
&
TRIAC
switch.
This
Microcontroller displays the temperature on the LCD, as well as the temperature is
Transmitted to the Microcontroller at the other end for display in the LCD of the
microcontroller in the Transmitter section.
The set value of temperature entered through control keys by the user
is transmitted through serial port of microcontroller to the MODEM. The MODEM
modulates the serial data by FSK principle & then sends to RF modulator for
frequency modulation & transmission through antenna.
The Transmitted data is received by the antenna at the receiving
section & passed to FM demodulator for demodulation. After demodulation the
signal is sent to MODEM for conversion to digital data by FSK demodulation & then
transmitted to serial port of microcontroller at the receiving end.
The microcontroller at the receiving end also reads the actual
temperature through temperature sensor & compares with set value, to generate a
control signal for switching ON/OFF of the TRIAC switch to control the temperature.
