Assignment 1.2 Executive Summary of Thesis Project
My project will visually organize ‘Hangul’ (the native alphabet of the Korean language)
typefaces and its history so as to introduce foreign people to ‘Hangul’ typefaces because
most existing web sites present Hangul typography in terms of teaching the Korean
language. The problem with these websites are they do not provide explanations of the
various kinds of Hangul typography and interactive widgets to capture the attention of
the user. Because Hangul Korean typefaces have come into popularity, for example,
among current Korean fashion designers, specifically in the design of textiles and clothing,
I propose a project that will focus exclusively on the typography and unique design
features of Hangul.
