Winder Solutions Application Training
Winders and winding applications exist in many industrial settings.
There are many
winder/rewinder machine variations. The Winder Solutions Software package was designed
to address specifically Centerwind/Unwind applications. Working on winding systems for
the first time can be a bit intimidating. To get you over that fear, our students work at their
desk with a small AC Induction motor in a simulation mode. On our trainers, with motor and
winder setup, procedures can be practiced and results observed using our CTScope
software. After this familiarization, students move onto a real four drive Inspection
Unwind/Rewind machine that uses Dancer feedback elements and full screen SCADA front
end for a “real world” Operator Interface example. Each student will log several hours on a
laptop PC to gain proficiency using our Winder Solution software package and associate soft
tools.

The Solution Winder accommodates both Speed and Torque
based solutions for both AC and DC motors. The AC
solution using the Unidrive SP can run standard induction
motors, Vector motors or even Servo motors for precision
winding. Initially, the Winder Solution will be introduced
and run on drive training units at your desk under a
simulation mode.
You will use our various software tools
to make configuration changes and
observe winding profiles using
CTScope.
Come to the course and you will take home a CDROM packed with Application Examples,
Basic and Advanced Drive manual plus all Winding Course Notes and Software utility
programs, Troubleshooting Guides, 4 Channel Color Software Scope, SyPT Lite PLC
software, Drive Configuration Software and Diagnostic Tools and much, much more.
Four Motor Inspection Machine
After basic Winder Solution familiarization at your desk, students move onto a real
four drive Inspection Unwind/Rewind machine that uses Dancer feedback
elements and full screen SCADA front end for a “real world” Operator Interface
example. This real Winding machine uses Air Loaded cylinders for Dancer
Tension application. All typical commissioning issues can be demonstrated and
worked through to result in actual “hands on” Winding experience.

bring one up the learning curve as quickly and painlessly as possible.

#TRNG-261 Winder Solutions $800 / 4 Days
This class is designed for those who wish to implement the Control Techniques Winder
Solutions Package. The class assumes some basic Winder knowledge and background so
that sufficient time is available to get into the specifics of configuring the SM-Winder
Solutions for various drive platforms. This is the new Standard Winder Solutions Option that
is currently offered for the UnidriveSP AC drives and for the Mentor/Quantum MP DC Drives.
Prerequisites include a thorough understanding of Control Techniques UnidriveSP or Mentor
MP and previous experience with Control Techniques SyPT Prol.

Transportation from the Buffalo/Niagara International
Airport is not provided. Taxi service is very limited on
Grand Island; a rental car is recommended.
