6. Preliminary conditions for learning - the course "System analysis in the social geography" is
a specialized, integrates knowledge of such basic courses as "Basics of social geography", "Theory
and Methodology of geography." Creates the opportunities for systemic learning by masters (experts)
a modern methodology of social geography.
7. Course Description: The aim of the course – to form the competence in the practical
application of systems analysis, mathematical modeling and computer technology in social and
geographical research.
Objectives of the course: to examine theoretical and methodological principles of systems
analysis in the social geography; to apply a systematic analysis during social geographical research; to
chose the problems to which the application of systems analysis is appropriate; to apply the principles
of system approach on the specific subjects of social geosystem; to identify the specific social
geosystem by classification attributes of prototypes; to apply the decomposition of social geosystem
for planning and implementation of system analysis.
Content of the course: theoretical and methodological basis of system analysis in the social
geography; the basic concepts and categories of system analysis; the basic principles of a systematic
approach to solving social and geographical problems; a classification and properties of social
geosystem; the concept of system model and simulation of social ecosystem, a classification of
models; the particular methodology of system analysis, the basic modeling techniques (systematic and
structural, systemic-functional analysis);
8. The forms and methods of tuition - lectures, practical works, individual work according to the
program of course.
9. The forms of knowledge control, an evaluation system – students perform practical works,
tests according to module-rating system.
10. Educational and methodological support – a system of developed objectives for practical
work, modular forms for tests.
11. Tuition language - Ukrainian.
