Author Jane Kirkland will visit our school on date to present her compelling and interactive program called
“I Saw a Bald Eagle Soaring Over My Grocery Store.” She will entertain and educate students as she talks about the
weird and wonderful nature adventures and discoveries she has made in such “exotic” places as her own backyard and
the parking lot of her local grocery store. She will challenge students with her “Take a Minute to be in it™” nature break,
encouraging them to observe and enjoy nature every day. Jane has appeared on Animal Planet TV, PBS, Disney’s
Epcot Center, and the Philadelphia Flower Show. She is the recipient of The National Arbor Day Foundation’s
Education Award and her books have won a Teacher’s Choice Award as well as a finalist position in ForeWord
Magazine’s Book of the Year Award. She is a regular guest on the WXPN Philadelphia “Kids Corner” radio program.
