2014-2015 K-12 Online Professional Learning Opportunities for Mathematics
Ontario educators are invited to participate in online professional learning through Adobe Connect.
Five different series are being offered and the details are as below. Participants are required to attend all four sessions offered in a series.
Series Content
Supporting Students with Learning Disabilities in
Mathematics
(repeat of Spring and Summer 2014 series)
Intended audience:
School based teams consisting of classroom
educators and at least one special education
teacher
Intended Learning
Participants will:
 deepen their understanding of profiles
of students with learning disabilities
 examine the cognitive processes defined
in IEPs through a mathematics lens

learning facilitator
School based teams consisting of the principal and
at least one classroom educator and one special
education teacher.
Proportional Reasoning for Mathematics Educators
(repeat of winter and summer series)
Intended audience:
Classroom Educators
 investigate instructional and assessment
strategies that leverage student
strengths and support student needs.
Participants are invited to bring a sample
IEP for an anonymous student with a
learning disability to each session.
Participants will:
 develop mathematical knowledge of
proportional reasoning,
 deepen the knowledge of teaching

Type the series identification in the subject line of the email. (i.e. Series A, Series B, Series C or Series D or Series E)
A separate form must be completed and emailed for each series’ registration.
Registration due date: Enrolment is limited


Series B, C, D and E: Please register by October 6, 2014
Series A: Please register by January 25, 2015
Additional details, including the URL required to access these Adobe Connect sessions, will be provided in a separate confirmation e-mail.
Equipment:
A computer with high speed internet (preferably hard wired)
Individual registrations will also need a headset with an attached microphone.
Participants registering in teams will also require speakers, a microphone and a means of sharing the computer screen.
