 All India Coordinated Research Project on Forage Crops: A Decade of

crops by BAIF at its Central Research Station at Urulikanchan, with the
support of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi and the
successful results achieved.

DOCUMENTARY FILMS
 Wadi: Focusses on tribal development and empowerment (35 minutes).
 From Seed Sovereignty to Food Security: A video film focussing on the
efforts being made by BAIF to generate awareness among communities about
the need to conserve crop genetic resources. BAIF has initiated this activity in
the tribal belt of Jawhar region in Thane district of Maharashtra through
Maharashtra Institute of Technology Transfer for Rural Areas (MITTRA), an
Associate Organisation of BAIF (12 minutes).
 Mor Dekhne Jungle Mein (The Peacock Trail): A feature-cumdocumentary film in Hindi, focussing on the involvement of youth in rural
development, the film revolves around a young Management Graduate who
disappointed with his parents discouragement to go to USA for better
prospects in the wake of the 9/11 incident, joins a Non-Government
Organisation and moves to a remote area to work with tribal families. The
entire film is a journey of introspection and aims at creating a sense of
responsibility among urban youth in particular to devote some time to
sustainable development of the rural community and thereby contribute
towards rural prosperity (110 minutes).
 Sustainable Livelihood in Backward Regions of Maharashtra:
Documentary film in English, Marathi and Hindi, on core activities of
watershed development, improved agriculture and supplementary livelihood
(25 minutes).
 Distress to Prosperity: Documentary film in English, Marathi and Hindi, on
drought proofing methodology through watershed development in Vidarbha
region of Maharashtra (22 minutes).
 Janotthan: A documentary film on sustainable development of the rural
community under the Special SGSY Programme in Karnataka.
 Kotwaliya: Film in English and Gujarati on the upliftment of primitive tribals
in Tapi district.
 Dheya Sabalikaranache Swayam Sahyata Gatachi Sutra: Documentary in
Marathi on the concept, best practices and impact of the SHG programme.
