Leading Questions:
1. Looking closely at the objects try and identify as to what they
are and where they came from.
 Give students a minute or two on this question.
2. Speculate as to why many of us are able to identify certain
Greek objects without having a deep knowledge of their history.
 Media – video games with Greek content (mythology,
strategy); movies (Alexander, Troy, 300 etc.).
3. Are the ancient Greeks still relevant today?
 Question to be posed and reflected on during the lesson (not to
be answered immediately.
LESSON / ACTIVITY
1. Have date, title, lesson layout, and handouts ready to go for the start of class.
2. Introduce the ancient Greeks using replica artifacts. Hook – ask students to identify objects.
3. Have introduction page to PowerPoint ready to go. Begin lesson.
4. Once lesson is completed, ask students if there any additional questions relating to the
material covered.
5. Turn attention to introducing the activity. Either illustrate quick demo, or show them a
sample of what the activity involves.
6. If there is time, students are to begin planning what they want to do for their project glue
pottery activity.
