Qualification requirements 2nd Dutch Capitals Tour 2016
To participate you have to provide your start number used during PBP 2015 or a homologation number in
2016 for a BRM 400km at the moment of subscription.
In case the homologation number of a WRB (BRM) 400km 2016 is not known during subscription then you
are allowed to provide this number in a later stage.
Subscription
The maximum amount of participants is 100. Pre-subscription is obligated. This pre-subscription will be open
from December 2015 and will be closed on 15 June 2016.
A waiting queue will be set-up in case of more than 100 subscriptions.
The date/hour of subscription and payment is leading in order to select participants and the order of the
waiting queue.
Subscription is only completed if the payment is arrived on the bank account of the organization and (if
applicable) the homologation number of the 400km in 2016 is known.
Equipment
Wearing of a helmet is compulsory.
During dark weather and during the night wearing of a reflection shirt is compulsory. This reflection shirt
meets the same requirements as published for PBP 2015. Velomobile riders must put this shirt on as soon
as they step out the Velomobile. On the Velomobile also sufficiently reflective strips should be present.
Usage of an aero bar is forbidden.
Lights must meet the legal requirements. It’s not allowed to carry lights that blind traffic in opposite direction.
Carrying extra replacement lights during the ride is compulsory
Checkpoints
At the start each participant gets a check book and route description with all checkpoints where the check
book must be signed off. One or more secret checkpoints will be set-up by the organization. So, the
participant must follow the route as provided by the start.
At each checkpoint the time of passage is completed, including the date. If it is impossible to sign off the
check book at a regular checkpoint, the participant has to arrange a stamp or another proof of being in the
neighbourhood. The participant fills the date and time of passage in the check book.
In case of missing stamps, incomplete passage times or loss of the check book (regardless the distance
already made) a certificate of the homologation will not be provided. Each participant carries his own
responsibility for the check book.
The maximum time to finish this ride is 110 hours. Each checkpoint has a set closing time after which no
stamp will be provided. Each participant has ensured to be in time by each checkpoint otherwise no
certificate will provided, also in case the finish has been reached in time. Checkpoints are available until two
hours after closing time for food, drinks en (if indicated) sleep.

After finishing the participants as well as the organization have to sign the check book. This check book has
to be handed to the organization. After providing the certificate the organization will return the check book to
the participant. In case of loss, no duplicate of the check book will be given. This ride is not a race, so no
classification will be made.
Behaviour
It is mandatory to comply to the Dutch traffic rules.
It is forbidden to throw rubbish on the road and other places not destined for rubbish.
The checks are usually staffed by employees of the company we visit or volunteers of our organization. In
both cases, we welcome their willingness to cooperate with us organizing this trip. We would like to ask them
again in the future to keep it possible to organize these events. Treat these people with respect. These
people are in any case being considered as representatives of the organization, but are not informed of all
details of the organization or carry any responsibility for organization related issues.
In case of fraud the participant will be excluded from this event.
Care
It is forbidden to follow a participant using a car.
Care from a support vehicle is allowed only at the official check points that are listed on the route description
or in the GPS track.
Violation will result in disqualification.
Liability
Participation is at your own risk.
Each participant must be insured for 3rd party damages.
The organization cannot be liable for damaged or missing luggage or bodily harm
The organization has made every possible effort to check the route and try to avoid dangerous situations in
traffic. However, it is impossible to check the whole route in less than one week before. Safety in traffic is
always the responsibility of the participant. The organization is not liable for accidents and consequences.
Sanctions
Violations noticed by representatives of the organization are punished with time penalties or disqualification.
Sanctions applied by a representative of the organization can be a reason for disqualification after finishing
the ride.
Subscription and participation means includes agreement to these regulations. All complaints and protests
must be sent to the organisation by mail within 48 hours after closing time of the event. The organisation will
forward this letter, accompanied with its advice about the issue, to the Randonneurs commission of Les
Randonneurs Mondiaux, for a final and binding decision.

In all disputes the Dutch version prevails over translated versions
In situations where these rules do not provide, the organization has the discretion the take a binding
decision.
