Our Maths program covers introductory topics including:

 Primary and secondary colours

 2D shapes

 and

Pre-number

These concepts are reinforced through finger-plays and rhymes songs and games.

Our Enduring

Understanding is “All

About Me”. We will be looking at our uniqueness, family, our school and ourselves environment.

We will be using quality literature such as Pearl Barley and

Charley Parsely by

Aaron Blabey and

Potato People by

Pamela Allen.

The Jolly Phonics/

THRASS program incorporates the first

5 phonemes s,a,t,i,p.

The children have the opportunity to develop their speaking, listening and questioning skills during “News” time.

Topics include

 Things I like

Free choice

Retell or sing a nursery rhyme

 My family

 Appreciating nature

 My teddy

 Free choice

 How my family celebrates Easter

Our art and craft activities correlate with our enduring understanding theme as well as nursery rhymes, phonics, colour and shape.

Our program gives children the opportunity to develop their fine motor skills and creativity through cutting, drawing, writing and painting.

They are also encouraged to develop friendships, negotiation and cooperation skills, sharing, communication and imaginative thinking.

Children are encouraged to bring healthy snacks and water to school and also spend much time playing outside.

To further their education and experience of health and fitness the children also have regular P.E. lessons

Lock down and fire evacuation procedures will be taught and implemented.

PALS (Playing and Learning to

Socialise) introduction to meeting friends, sharing and taking turns.

Topic such as recycling and appreciating the environment will also be covered.
