Roma heavy grown heifers make 136c/kg
A total of 298 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on Thursday.
Steers over 550kg sold to 148c/kg and averaged 140c/kg, while steers in the
400-550kg sold to 133c/kg and averaged 130c/kg.
Mt Emu Pastoral Co, Wakefield Station, Isisford, sold Brahman-cross steers to
133c/kg for 477kg to return $636/head.
Heifers over 450kg sold to 136c/kg and averaged 120c/kg, while heifers in the
350-450kg category returned 123c/kg and averaged 114c/kg.
Bill Hartley, Camara, Aramac, sold Brahman heifers to 123c for 560kg to return
$689. They also sold Brahman cows to 115c for 606kg to make $698.
Cows over 500kg peaked at 115c/kg and averaged 113c/kg, while cows in the
400-500kg class topped at 111c/kg and averaged 102c/kg. Cows 300-400kg N/A.
Mt Rourke Pastoral Co, Boolbie, Winton, sold Droughtmaster cows 113c for
533kg to return $603.
The Kallquist family, Pinegrove, Taroom, sold Santa cows to 111c for 547kg to
make $608.
The Collier family, Mungallala, sold Brahman cows to 111c for 542kg to return
$602.
Bulls over 600kg topped at 145c/kg and averaged 132c/kg.
