ANNOUNCEMENTS
*Please rise for the flag salute, <pause> ready, begin.
* Hey Tigers, the Valencia Boys Varsity Lacrosse are looking for excited high
energy tigers to participate in the up-coming lacrosse season. Any young men
interested in playing in the up-coming season, there will be an informative
meeting at lunch time Monday 12th, at the varsity team room, by the boy’s locker
room.
* Attention all boys who want to tryout for golf this year, there will be an
informational meeting in room 1113 during single lunch on Monday January 12th.
If you have any questions contact Coach Castillo in room 1113.
* Are you interested in becoming a new member of the VHS Track and Field
team this Spring? If you'd like to be part of our Tiger Army then you must attend
an informational meeting this Monday, January 12th, during lunch in Coach
Frank's room, 1001. We will be discussing tryout dates and times and answering
your questions. See you then!
* Boys tennis tryouts will take place after school on February 15th and 20th. You
will need to bring a physical exam and insurance forms to the tryouts. Contact
Coach McCall in room 1005 if you have questions.
* There will be a Girls Lacrosse meeting on Monday January 12th at lunch in
Room 801. We will discuss tryouts and the upcoming season. All girls interested
in trying out for the team and all returning players need to attend.
* WINTER BASH IS TONIGHT! TAKE THE FUN YOU HAD AT MORP AND
MULTIPLY IT BY 3. Winter theming, winter arcade, the coolest tunes, and lights
will make the night a winter spectacular. Tickets are $25 with and ASB sticker
and $30 general admission. Last minute decision, no worries. Tickets will be
available at the door for $30 with an ASB sticker and $32 General Admission.
No Guest Passes at the door. Please be sure that all of your dance clothes
conform to the school dress code.
* Our new skateboard rack is available for students to store their skateboards. All
students must use the rack in lieu of storing their boards in teachers' classroom.
A lock is needed to use the rack. If you need a lock, there are a small number
available at the finance window for sale.
* Attention Seniors: SoCalGrad will be on campus Thursday, January 15th during
LUNCH on the Rally Stage for your CAP AND GOWN, GRADUATION
ANNOUNCEMENTS, and CLASS RING ORDERS. Please don’t forget to bring
your order forms and deposit to place your order!
* Who will be this year's Mr. VHS 2015? Come see fourteen brave tiger men
battle it out in swimwear, talent and eveningwear competition on Friday, January
16th at 7pm in the auditorium! You may purchase a $7.00 pre-sale ticket from
any contestant or escort now.
* Attention Mr. VHS contestants, there is a dance rehearsal in the auditorium
today in the auditorium during lunch.
* Please stop by to see if any of your “missing” items have been found. They are
all on display on the counter in the Front Office.
* As the semester is coming to an end in a few weeks, be sure to take advantage
of Tiger Tutoring in the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4pm. Free
tutors are available to provide assistance in every subject to help you earn those
A's! Finish the semester strong Tigers.
* Attention Seniors: You can now start applying for financial aid. Counselors will
be calling all seniors to distribute financial aid documentation. Next Month,
throughout the month of February, counselors will be hosting financial aid
workshops after school in the career center on Tuesdays and Thursdays after
school. The deadline to submit financial aid documents is on Monday, March 2.
* Fellowship of Christian Athletes is sponsoring a FREE pizza event on Monday,
January 17th, at lunch, in the Old Gym. Our speaker will be Bill Leonhardt, High
School Director at Rose Drive Friends Church. After his talk on, “Finding Your
Worth,” there will be free pizza and water for all who attend. That’s FCA free
pizza huddle in the Old Gym, Monday, January 12th, at lunch. All are welcome.
*TIGER CHALLENGE! What’s your New Year’s resolution? Challenge yourself
to make improvements. Maybe improve your study habits? How about making
improvements to your health? It can be as easy as deciding to improve the
amount you smile each day. Whatever resolution you make for yourself, it’s
never a bad time to make yourself better.
