I am an innovative and detail-oriented graphic and web designer
with proven problem solving abilities and a strong creative
background. My extensive experience has been gained working for
a broad range of clientele from hi-tech, government and not-forprofit sectors. My specialties include integrating creative concepts
and design with new technologies to achieve maximum strategic
potential.

 Working as a freelance graphic artist and web designer bringing
both creativity and technical expertise to design agencies, small
and large businesses and many other organizations.
Smith Advertising and Design, Designer — Director of
Production
1998 – 2008
 Implemented new creative workflows that allowed Smith to
maximise its assets over all media types and achieve new
standards of quality.
 Enhanced creative design with cutting edge print production
techniques including five-colour process printing; MIP metallic
integrated process printing; extended duotone and tritone
technology; FM frequency modulation printing.
 Modernized Smith’s print production workflow and handled new
media creative and excision.
 Enhanced Smith’s ability to offer clients creative electronic media
solutions extending the reach of their marketing dollar.
 Spearheaded multilingual publishing capabilities.
Digital Design Group, Partner
1990 – 1998
 While operating IS Design (see below) acted as a partner in the
Digital Design Group, a design co-op that helped a small group of
Ottawa area creatives maximise their client services. The group
brought together designers, illustrators, photographers and writers
that collaborated on projects using the creative strengths of its
members.
IS Design, Owner – Creative Director
1986 – 1998
 Established a cutting edge firm to usher in the birth of electronic
publishing.
 Freelanced with top design firms lending creativity and extensive
knowledge of electronic publishing to their arsenal of tools.
 Acted as creative director of multiple monthly publications.
 Production one of North Americas first direct to film newspapers.
 Worked with Ottawa’s burgeoning hi-tech sector giving them
access to cutting edge design and production.
