Call for nominations to the Board of Directors of Incredible Edible Lambeth 2016
Incredible Edible Lambeth (IEL) Community Interest Company is seeking to elect two new board members for its
Board of Directors, the body that the ensures IEL:
adheres to its aims and objectives, as given in its constitution;
follow’s the activities of the business strategy;
oversees the legal obligations of IEL the company.
The board of directors is currently made up of five members and IEL are seeking to increase to seven members, the
maximum in the constitution.
About Incredible Edible Lambeth
Incredible Edible Lambeth aims to increase the amount of local food produced, sold and eaten within Lambeth
through transforming Lambeth’s food system by celebrating, supporting and strengthening community-based
food activity and the connections between local people and local food.

‘If you eat you’re in’ is the open membership philosophy. To be a member, and therefore a Director, you must live or
work in Lambeth or who is a friend of Lambeth, by actively contributing to its culture.
Your nomination form is to be received by Thursday 21st January. If there are more than two people nominated we
will hold an election at the AGM. Members are entitled to one vote. The AGM is part of the annual celebrations at
Roots and Shoots 3pm - 6pm on Saturday 23rd January 2016. The AGM part shall take place at 5pm.
About the Board
Board members are responsible for promoting the network widely in working to achieve the vision, mission and
values of the organisation. Board meetings will be held 6 times a year. Board members are expected to read papers
before each meeting and to contribute to developing projects. Open events, newsletters and social media are the
means of developing and representing the different interest groups regarding food in Lambeth, and will help frame
the projects and functions of IEL.
Becoming a Board Member
We encourage anyone with a passion to achieve the aims to stand for election. We will also have the option to coopt people with skills additional to those represented by the Board should the need arise. For the current
developments of Incredible Edible Lambeth we will be looking for Members who can demonstrate that they bring
at least two of the following skills and experience to the Board:
 fund-raising
 financial skills/accountancy/business development/social enterprise
 network development
 experience of running a voluntary/not for profit organisation/social enterprise
 knowledge of IT/editorial/social media/design/communication
 knowledge of any of the following issues:
 food production
 community skills/training
 or other community food issues
