Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medications TO AVOID While Taking
Warfarin (Coumadin®)
Your doctor and pharmacist may have told you to avoid taking any medications
with aspirin, salicylates, ibuprofen, or naproxen while you are taking warfarin.
These drugs can increase the effects of warfarin. They may also damage the
lining of your stomach, which can increase the risk of bleeding.
Below are lists of some OTC medications that contain aspirin, salicylates,
ibuprofen, or naproxen. Some manufacturers change the formulations of the
medications, so always check the package label for ingredients.
