Location: 3 positions based in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Position Purpose:
To assist with seed production processes and support activities involved in the development and
production of hybrid seed crop types. This position is 4 months in duration (May-August 2007) with
the possibility of fall casual work.
Duties/Responsibilities
Working closely with contract growers to ensure quality production of pedigreed hybrid canola seed
and other seed crops produced by Pioneer Hi-Bred; Inspecting and monitoring of seed production
fields to evaluate crop progress; Interacting and communicating with contract growers; Collecting
agronomic data from seed production fields and research sites; Data entry of field observations into
database. One of the positions listed will have more emphasis placed on research and trialing of
Pioneer products, namely corn.
Educational Qualifications Desired:
Applicant should be completing a Degree or Diploma in Agricultural Science or related field.
Competencies and Experience Desired:
Knowledge of agricultural crop production, weed, disease and crop identification is desired. A Valid
Class 5 driver's license is essential. Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an
asset: GIS/GPS systems, beekeeping or research.
