GRADUATION EXPECTATIONS
CLASS OF 2015
Dear Carlisle High School Seniors and Parents,
Please read the expectations below and keep them for your reference as the special day draws near. I
am asking that both the senior and a parent sign the second page acknowledging your understanding of
the expectations and consequences for the graduation ceremony. The acknowledgment must be
turned in to the high school office by Monday, May 11, 2015. Students will not receive their cap and
gown until this form is completed and returned to the main office and all student fees are paid.

Dress Code Expectations (Please plan ahead)
 Each senior will be provided with a cap and gown designed specifically for Carlisle High
School…girls will wear a white cap and gown with red piping and the CHS Crest…boys will wear a
red cap and gown with gray piping and the CHS Crest
 Do not airbrush/draw/write anything on your cap prior to ceremony…we do not have extra caps
this year since going with a permanent gown system
 Seniors shall wear the cap level with the floor…tassels shall hang over the left front edge
 Each senior will be required to dress appropriately for the ceremony
Boys: Dark pants, white dress shirt, regular dark tie (no bow-ties or string ties), and
black dress shoes (no gym shoes)
Girls: White dress and white dress shoes (make sure dress does not hang below gown)
***If you have questions about what to wear, please ask Mr. Potter or Mr. Ridinger at practice.
Graduation Practice Expectations
 All seniors are required to attend graduation practice (any senior who does not attend the
practice session will not be permitted to participate in commencement exercises)
General Information
 No one is permitted to be on the gymnasium floor at any time (Lifetouch will be taking pictures
of the senior receiving his/her diploma…pictures may be purchased from their
website…information will be distributed)
 All Student Fee obligations must be met by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30th (no student will
receive a cap and gown who still owes fees…no personal checks accepted after this date)

Seniors must report to the commons by 11:00 a.m. on graduation day (seniors seated on the
west side of the gym will line up in the mathematics hallway…seniors seated on the east side of
the gym will line up in the science hallway)
Please park in the spots leading back to the football field
Please do not chew gum during the ceremony
A program will be on your seat as you enter the gymnasium (please refrain from fanning
yourself with your program during the ceremony)
Behavioral Expectations
 Any senior under the influence of alcohol or drugs at either the graduation practice or
ceremony will not be able to participate in the ceremony (authorities will be called
immediately)
 We will enforce the Student Code of Conduct at graduation practice and the ceremony. Any
senior using foul language, being uncooperative, or demonstrating a poor attitude will be asked
to leave
 We will not tolerate ANY disruptions during the ceremony…if anyone (student, parent, guest,
etc.) creates a disruption, we will stop the ceremony and have that person(s) escorted from the
gym
 You are to have nothing on your person prior to and during the ceremony (included but not
limited to silly string, confetti poppers, blow up beach balls, noise makers, etc.)
 Disruptions during the ceremony include but are not limited to: leaving your seat during the
ceremony, blowing up a beach ball, using a noise maker, verbal disruptions, etc.
 Tassels are turned at the end of the ceremony after your student body president says a few
words and reads your class motto
 Once you are in the hallway in line and ready to proceed to the gymnasium, you are not to have
anything on your person…staff members will check each student prior to leaving for the gym
 Please, do not be the first graduate, parent, family member to be removed from the ceremony
