1.1.1 Heading Level Three
Heading Level Style: An Arabic numeral followed by a full stop and another
Arabic numeral; the Arabic numerals are inserted manually followed by one
tab space before the heading text.
The use of headings is encouraged. They should be used as signposts to help the reader (and
the writer) identify the different sections of the piece of writing. Headings and their levels
should be used to represent the relative importance of the particular section of the writing.
Short sections are easier to summarise in an informative heading than long sections. Do not
overuse heading levels: most sections are unlikely to require more than three heading levels.
