Skill Highlights:
 Employed full-time at the Times Leader newspaper, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Responsibilities
include writing local briefs, writing obituaries, designing obituary page, designing daily
weather page, writing features news stories, conducting numerous interviews.
 Wrote, researched, and conducted interviews for Web-based news stories as part of the
Capital Campaign at King’s College that were used to raise $25 million.
 Developed campaign strategies and walked door to door to elect District Justice William
Amesbury.
 Supervised a staff of more than 140 and was responsible for running a smooth
department in a fast paced work environment
 Hosted county wedding rehearsals, wrote for county website as an intern in Luzerne
County Public Information office.
 Created and wrote a Northeastern, PA Factbook to be published.

Times Leader, Wilkes-Barre, Pa.: Obituary Clerk/Reporter, February 2008-Present:
Assisting in uncovering information for full-time reporters, writing feature news stories,
writing and designing obituary page, archiving all news stories for Times Leader and
Dallas Post, compiling local briefs.
Internships:
 WBRE/WYOU TV: News intern in Spring of 2008. Wrote copy for anchors, researched
news stories, uncovered breaking news information, sent photographers and reporters to
news sites, dealt with viewers’ concerns, traveled with photographers and reporters to
various locations within 13 counties.
 Times Leader: News reporting intern in Fall of 2007. Responsibilities include:
conducting numerous interviews, developing story ideas, monitoring news outlets, writing
clear stories for publication.
 Joint Urban Studies Center: Intern in Summer 2007. Wrote and researched a
Northeastern, PA Factbook that required analyzation of demographics, new business,
and quality of life offerings to show regional trends. Also, conducted market research for
a Wilkes-Barre City financial literacy survey, hosted a focus group for the WB/Scranton
Penguins Booster Club, conducted research on national urban study graduate programs.
 Luzerne County Public Information: Intern in Fall 2006. Wrote press releases, compiled
county news database, acted as photographer for all county events, planned
groundbreaking ceremony for riverfront revitalization project, wrote historic resolutions.
