GRADING
 All graded assignments will be based on a 10-point scale with values as follows
A – 100-90
B – 80-89
C – 70-79
D – 69-60
F – 59 or below
 The following chart shows the weighted grading system used in this course:

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
 Cell Phones – Student cell phone use is not permitted during class. PLEASE DO NOT
CALL/TEXT YOUR STUDENT’S CELLPHONE DURING CLASS. School policy (requiring
confiscation) will be enforced.
 Tardiness – Students are referred to ISS on 4th Tardy as per school policy.
 Personal Needs – Please take care of personal needs as much as possible between
classes (restroom, water, lockers, etc.)
 Late Work – Late work will be accepted up to one week after due date with a 20-point
deduction.
 Absences – When absent, student should make arrangements to collect notes and
assignments from teacher upon return. School policy allows one week for completion of
assignments missed during absence. Previously scheduled assignments are due upon
return.
 Turning In Assignments – All work should be turned in to the correct class bin to
receive full credit.
 Notes – Each week students will be responsible for taking, filing, and maintaining
appropriate notes for the material studied. Notebook may be shared with another class but
should have dividers to keep work separate and organized.
 Quizzes & Tests – All quizzes and tests will be announced and will be based on
important information, themes, and main ideas from units of study.

Books – Books are not individually assigned. Students may check out a classroom
book at any time by seeing the instructor.

Class Website – The class website available under the Class Websites > Social
Studies tab on the Spring Creek High School website will contain important updates
concerning tests, quizzes, projects, progress reports, detailed assignments, and unit
study guides.

Home Base – Students and Parents may obtain a password to check the online grade
book for their student. This allows you to follow your student’s progress on a daily basis.
See the WCPS website for a link to create your account.

Progress Reports – Progress reports will go home at 3-week increments. Tentative
