African American Arts and Heritage Annual Scholarship must be a high school senior and supply an
official transcript, (1) recommendation, photo, and write a 300 word essay. Applications are in
guidance file drawer. Deadline May 3rd.
New Jersey Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Scholarship for $1000. Awarded to graduating senior who
has ME/CFS, 2.0 or better GPA. Application is also available on website: www.njcfsa.org. Deadline
April 19.
LPGA Foundation Scholarship opportunities for female high school seniors who have played golf
during high school:
The Marilynn Smith Scholarship, the Dinah Shore Scholarship and the Phyllis G. Meekins
Scholarship. Please click on the link www.lpgafoundation.org/ for the criteria and applications.
Deadline for all (3) is April 30.
Garden State Dufferettes Golf Club, the young woman must be a high school senior, GPA 3.5 or
better, have applied to college, have participated in a sport, and must have a true written
statement of need. Deadline April 30.
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Eta Pi Chapter, of Montclair, Governor Brown Memorial awards
scholarships to high school seniors living in Essex, Union, Morris and Bergen Counties of New
Jersey. The awards are given to African American males with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Needed: twopage autobiography, (2) letters of recommendation. Applications are in guidance center file
drawer, an interview (for finalist only). Deadline April 30.
The Gunner Winston Merit Scholarship, Needed: 3.5 GPA or above, verifiable financial need,
activities and community service, (4) recommendations, personal statement or copy of college
essay. Annual amount of $5,000. Applications are in guidance center file drawer. Completed
packet must be submitted to your guidance counselor before the Tuesday May 4, deadline.
The Keith Hightower Scholarship, applicants must have participated in science or math
competitions or participated in independent scientific research during their high school careers.
Required; essay, recommendation from counselor and science or math teacher, copy of letter of
acceptance, transcript. Scholarship will be a grant of not less than $4,000. Deadline May 17.
The Jewish Vocational Service administers a Scholarship Loan Program for Jewish residents of the
areas served by the United Jewish Federation of Metro West. Annual interest-free loans of up to
$5,000. may be granted to eligible applicants who can document that all other sources of aid have

Montclair Education Association, Katherine Marcotte Scholarship, awards this scholarship to a
graduating MHS senior who has shown an interest in pursuing a career in the field of education,
demonstrated academic excellence, and fulfilled all of graduation requirements. Applications in
guidance center file drawer. Deadline April 30.
NOBLE, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, Northern New Jersey Chapter
Scholarship applications in guidance file drawer. Qualifications: Must be a New Jersey senior who
will graduate June 2010, and plans to attend college in fall. Applicants should have an interest in
law enforcement. Needed: official transcript, essay, recommendations, community
service/leadership activities, and wallet size photograph. Deadline April 16.
Northern New Jersey Chapter of National Kitchen & Bath Association Bill Farnan Scholarship Fund,
The awards shall be used to further a senior’s education at a college, professional, technical,
vocational, or business school that will result in enhancing a student’s marketability in the design
community. Three (one -time non-renewable) scholarships are available. Applications in guidance
file drawer. Deadline May 17.
The Jon M. Pritsch Scholarship Application, Senior on the golf team, pursuing a career in a golf
related field, and who qualifies for admission to either the Professional Golf Management Program
or a School of Agronomy to be a Greens Superintendent. Applications are in guidance file drawer.
Deadline May 25.
The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Chi Sigma Chapter, Scholarships being offered: (4) $1,000, John Rice
Memorial Scholarships, (1) $500. Alonzo C. Jackson Scholarship and (1) $500. Louis D. Hassell
Scholarship. Eligible to apply; graduating high school senior and accepted to college. Needs official
transcript, 500 word essay and photo. Applications are in guidance file drawer. Deadline May 7.
Patricia Spikes Scholarship, open to high school seniors, must be African-American, 3.0 GPA or
better, 300 word essay, (2) recommendations, official transcript. $1,000. Awarded per year.
Deadline May 15.
The Thornton Sisters Foundation, Inc. providing deserving young females of color scholarships for
books, tuition etc. depending on fiscal year funding. Must supply application, transcript,
recommendation, and income documentation. Deadline May 7.
