Benefits of Climate Change for Countries like Canada
Jenny & Vanessa
What is Climate?
 Climate is affected by the altitude, longitude and nearby water bodies.
 Climate includes the statistics of temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind,
rainfall, atmospheric particle count and other meteorological elements in a given region
over a long period of time.

Many countries of the northern hemisphere, particularly close the North Pole, have
many benefits from climate change, for they all share similar climates (seasons and
average temperature of each season)
Climate Change
 The change of the “average weather” of a region, have many components influencing
the weather, such as temperature, wind patterns and precipitation
 A change in weather patterns over long periods of time from decades to centuries.
 May affect a certain region or even the whole world
 Changes the amount of sunlight reflected onto the Earth.
 Causes continents to move/shift
 Increases the amount of greenhouse gases and aerosols in the atmosphere
 Has an effect on the Earths orbit.
 Increases the rate of mountain growth
Benefits for Countries like Canada
 Many polar ice caps will melt allowing Canadian shipping industries to cross the North
Pole, rather than going around
 The water that melts in the ice contains gases that can be experimented on by
scientists to help predict future happenings.
 Land that was once cover in ice can now be used
 The harvesting period will increase as the weather grows warmer
 More plants will grow and release more oxygen in the air while removing carbon
dioxide. Removing carbon dioxide will decrease the amount of rainfall per year.
 A warmer climate will increase the amount of tourist
Population in Canada
 A majority of Canada’s population will disperse throughout the country as the weather
becomes warmer
 This will allow more immigration to the country
 More forest area will be provided
 Trees will live longer due to warmer and shorter winters. This will help remove
greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and have a wider resource to wood materials
(ex. Paper)
 Bird migrations may change for they will no longer need to move south during the
winter
 Animals will not need to hibernate
 Winter would no longer be snowy and wet making it easier for the population and
infrastructure, with less energy consumption.
