Ancient Civilizations
Student Project
Rome, Greece and Egypt are not the only civilizations to exist. There are many
more civilizations that brought great intellect, influence and knowledge to our people that
have in turn shaped the world as we know it today.
Your task is to research one ancient civilization (excluding the one’s currently
under analysis) and present your findings in the form of a small independent research
project.
Some other choices for ancient civilizations/peoples include:
Ancient India
Aztecs
Olmecs
Ancient China
Incas
Totlecs
Ancient Japan
Mayans
Celts
Please feel free to include pictures into your project. They can be both printed off
the internet and included throughout your project, or sketched/coloured by hand. You will
be given three weeks to complete this assignment- giving you more than enough time to
spend on each part of your research project (slide show, poster board or formal written
report).
Don’t wait till the last minute!
Suggestion: You may wish to use your lesson plan topics as a guide for your research. In
the end you are to present the information you feel to be the most interesting/important to
your chosen civilization.
Your assignment can be handed in early if done, but I do encourage all students to
take their time and do their best. Anything handed in that resembles a rough draft or
working copy will not be accepted for grading.
