PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
YEAR C
Invitation to Prayer:
My brothers and sisters,
in humility let us come before the God of compassion and love
and pray for the work of the church,
the salvation of all people
and the needs of the world around us.
Concluding Prayer:
O God,
who alone can probe the depths of the heart,
you hear the prayer of the humble
and justify the repentant sinner.
As we stand before you,
grant us the gift of humility,
that we may see our own sins clearly
and refrain from judging our neighbour.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
Or:
We come before you as sinners, gracious God,
yet you embrace us in the crucified arms of Jesus
and lift us up as a new creation.
Have mercy on us
and keep us humble of heart
that we may acknowledge your love for all people
and thank you by our service of one another.
Through Christ our Lord.
