Preparation Sequencing Guide –
Full Mouth Reconstruction
(2 stages – Molars left unprepped in 1st stage)
Take new pre-op Molar-to-Molar Luxabite bites, left and right.
Take Shade.
A.
Prepare teeth for Pressed/Bonded restorations.
1.
Facial reduction – as much as you can get.
2.
Incisal reduction – at least 1.5mm.
3.
Lingual reduction – 0.6 – 1.0mm.
B.
Use prep guides to verify proper reduction (clear & siltech).
C.
Take maxillary & Mandibular records.
1.
Prep shade (core).
2.
Stick-bite secured on mandibular prepped anteriors.
3.
Take new facebow.
4.
Maxillary anterior prepped-to-mandibular anterior prepped Luxabite
bite with molar Luxabite bites in place.
5.
Verify vertical. Record CEJ-to-CEJ distance.
6.
Photos of 1 thru 5 ( retracted ).
D.
Check provisional siltechs for fit.
E.
Load siltechs with luxatemp in anterior and Bi positions – not molars.
F.
Make maxillary and Mandibular provisionals, but do not lock on.
1.
Remove, trim.
2.
Verify reduction – re-prep areas where there is not enough reduction (
thin areas in provisionals).
3.
Seat temps – do not bond.
4.
Evaluate aesthetics.
5.
Evaluate phonetics.
6.
Verify CR and vertical.
7.
Evaluate protrusive and laterotrusive guidance.
8.
Verify mid line.
9.
Verify Occlusal Plane
10.
Take anterior Luxabite bite – provisionals-to-provisionals.
11.
Photos of provisionals ( retracted also).
H. Take final impressions – verify accuracy – re-take if necessary.
I. Seat and lightly bond temps.
Several days later check function, aesthetics, and make any further changes as per the
patient to provisionals.
J. Take impression of “approved” provisionals.
K. Take a bite of provisionals.
After seating Anteriors and Bi’s, prep and impress molars for final restorations.
