Geography 352 – World Regional Geography
Exam 2 Study Guide
The exam will be worth 100 points and consists of: image identification (1 point each; 18 total points);
multiple choice, true/false, matching (1 point each; 82 total points). This exam draws exclusively from the
PowerPoint lectures. If you haven’t already, you should review those lectures with your notes at hand.
The list below does not represent all of the questions or subject matter the exam will cover.
IMAGE IDENTIFICATION
 Be able to match landforms or landscape images from the PowerPoint slides with their corresponding
tectonically-produced North African/Southwest Asian feature
 Be able to match examples of North African/Southwest Asian natural vegetation from the PowerPoint
slides with their corresponding biome
 Be able to match images and locations of North African/Southwest Asian strategic waterways/choke
points to their names
 Be prepared to match historical and modern human adaptations to North African/Southwest Asian
biomes to their corresponding biome type
MULTIPLE CHOICE, TRUE/FALSE, MATCHING
 Be able to match physiographic features to the tectonic processes that created them
 You should be able to match Arabic terms to their corresponding English translations
 Be able to match major biomes to their corresponding locations on a map of North Africa/Southwest
Asia
 Be able to match the names of desert features to their corresponding descriptions
 Be ready to match the major ethnic groups of Iraq to their locations on a map of Iraq and their
characteristics under the rule of Saddam Hussein
 Be prepared to match territories controlled by the warring faction in the Syrian civil war with their
locations on a map of Syria
 Be able to match military insurgent/political groups in North Africa/Southwest Asia with the countries
or ethnic groups they represent
 There will be many other questions related to the topics above, plus questions on Shi’ia Islam, Iraq,
Israel, and Afghanistan
