Ducora’s TopCoat® is an inorganic, unique coating manufactured and designed to be a
protective, environmentally safe, water-based coating for application on multiple surfaces.
Due to TopCoat’s small molecular structure, TopCoat® can penetrate the porosity of various
substrates (paint, glass, plastic, etc.) deeper than traditional waxes, polishes, or sealants.
This ability to penetrate the porosity provides a molecular bond with the surface, retarding
the damaging effects of environmental contaminants.
TopCoat® was manufactured with no reportable VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) or
HAPS (Hazardous Air Polluting Solvents). This means that TopCoat® can be used in nonventilated areas and is not regulated.

I would love to have an explanation of the chemical processes involved. Siloxanes have a method of
bonding to their treated surfaces molecularly, versus typical waxes, which bond chemically. A
molecular bond has more permanence associated with it, and as such will outlast most other “wax”
type of products. Siloxanes are inorganic, non-carbon based unlike organic waxes which break
down quickly.
What temperature extremes will it work in? -40 deg C to 100 deg C.
How do we remove it if required? Aliphatic or aromatic solvents (i.e., glycol ethers, benzene,
toluene, hexane)
How well does it stand up to detergent washes? The product will stand up to detergent washes
without breaking down, so long as they do not contain any of the above mentioned ingredients.
However, any sort of ablation to the surface (frequent washes with detergents, pressure, and
mechanical interaction) will have effects on the longevity of the coating.
How thick is a layer? Average thickness is in the order .5 microns.
